Volunteers

If you’re interested in history and have a few hours to spare, we’d love to have you join our growing community of volunteers. Hours are flexible, no previous experience is necessary and training is available.

Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

Library Research Aides
Aides are needed to help manage the Society’s extensive collection of documents, ephemera and photographs and assist visitors interested in researching aspects of Anne Arundel County history. The Historical and Genealogical Research Center is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

To volunteer, call Becky Morris at 443-837-8196

Benson-Hammond House Docents
Docents will conduct tours through the Benson-Hammond House and interpret the rich history of truck farming in Northern Anne Arundel County. The House is open the second and fourth Saturday of each month from March through November. The hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

To volunteer, call Jan Baker at 410-768-9518

Special Projects
The Society has a number of fund-raising activities throughout the year. If you’re good at organizing and planning or just like to help out, we can use you!

Publicity
We could use help getting the word out about our Society, our opportunities and our events. It would only be a few hours of your time but if you can write, give us a call.
